MSc in Business Administration,
specialization Organizational Design & Development
The Master's specialization Organizational Design & Development (OD&D) focuses on interventions in organizational infrastructures in light of their effects on social practices, against the background of the organization's position in society. The mutual connection between how work is organized and the social practices that establish work organization plays an essential role not only in the meaningful existence and persistence of organizations themselves, but also in the stability and adaptiveness of societies. Stable but flexible societies need well-organized firms and institutes; they need stable but flexible organizations. Looking at infrastructures against the background of social practices connects an external view of organizations with an internal view. The external view concerns how the organization's environment - the society at large or specific customer and cooperation groups - demands flexible reactions from organizations or allows organizations to co-determine what happens in markets, cooperation networks and societies. An internal view of work organization is then needed to understand how and why cooperation patterns establish what the organization is and whether or not it thrives. It is also needed to improve how work is actually organized, by using these insights for organization design and development programmes.
The International Master’s programmes at the Nijmegen School of Management are demanding programmes, set up to help you develop a critical attitude and a comparative view of the current academic debate on organizational theory, research on organizational behaviour and change. In order for you to be successful at completing the study programme, the Nijmegen School of Management has set some requirements to make sure you have a background to successfully complete our programmes.
We set these requirements to make sure that you are well-informed about the nature of the programme, and so that you know which topics are addressed during the programme.
For admission to all the specializations of the business Administration programme, you need to fulfill a number of requirements. These are:
[bw] A completed Bachelor degree in business studies or a related area
As the Master's programme seeks to provide advanced knowledge and skills in the area of international management, design and development management, strategy or marketing, a fundamental requirement for students is a Bachelor's degree in a management discipline.
Because the MSc programmes in Radboud University are programmes that build onto a Bachelor (BSc) programme, the level of education is high. To make sure you are able to follow the programme without difficulties, we require a background in business studies or related. That way, it is assured that you have enough background in the area of business and management studies.
When you send us your documents, your diploma will be assessed by our experts on international diplomas. Based on this advise, the board will determine if you are able to start in the Master’s programme directly, or if you need to follow a pre-master programme first.
For the Master's programmes, professional experience is not required. Anyone with an appropriate study-background is free to apply for admission. Students with a Dutch education have to apply via Studielink. Students with a foreign education have to apply via the university.
We cannot give you a final answer on whether you are admitted or not until you send us either your application via Studielink (for those coming from a Dutch programme) or the university application forms with the necessary documents attached (for those coming from a foreign programme).
