The Marketing programme focuses on the development and maintenance of relations with both existing and new customers in dynamic national and international markets. Such relations are becoming increasingly important for organizations because they can improve long-term organizational results. After completing the programme, you will be able to answer questions such as: What exactly is a market-oriented organization and how do we create such an organization? Is it possible to establish relationships with customers using brands and if so, how? What is the role of market orientation in the development of truly innovative products? How do we develop the sales function for an optimal result? What is the role of globalization in the above issues?



Admission requirements

The International Master’s programmes at the Nijmegen School of Management are demanding programmes, set up to help you develop a critical attitude and a comparative view of the current academic debate on organizational theory, research on organizational behaviour and change. In order for you to be successful at completing the study programme, the Nijmegen School of Management has set some requirements to make sure you have a background to successfully complete our programmes.

We set these requirements to make sure that you are well-informed about the nature of the programme, and so that you know which topics are addressed during the programme.

For admission to all the specializations of the business Administration programme, you need to fulfill a number of requirements. These are:

  • Completed Bachelor degree in Business studies or a related area
  • English Level requirements
  • Background in research methodology

[bw] A completed Bachelor degree in business studies or a related area

As the Master's programme seeks to provide advanced knowledge and skills in the area of international management, design and development management, strategy or marketing, a fundamental requirement for students is a Bachelor's degree in a management discipline.

Because the MSc programmes in Radboud University are programmes that build onto a Bachelor (BSc) programme, the level of education is high. To make sure you are able to follow the programme without difficulties, we require a background in business studies or related. That way, it is assured that you have enough background in the area of business and management studies.

When you send us your documents, your diploma will be assessed by our experts on international diplomas. Based on this advise, the board will determine if you are able to start in the Master’s programme directly, or if you need to follow a pre-master programme first.

For the Master's programmes, professional experience is not required. Anyone with an appropriate study-background is free to apply for admission. Students with a Dutch education have to apply via Studielink. Students with a foreign education have to apply via the university.

We cannot give you a final answer on whether you are admitted or not until you send us either your application via Studielink (for those coming from a Dutch programme) or the university application forms with the necessary documents attached (for those coming from a foreign programme).

In order to take part in the programme, you need to have a sufficient level of English. This requirement has been satisfied when the student meets one of the following conditions:

  • has a pre-university diploma (VWO diploma), or
  • has a diploma obtained by completing a secundary education at an institution in the Netherlands or abroad where the language of instruction is English, or
  • has a diploma from Higher Professional Education (HBO), or
  • is admitted by the Examining Board based on passing GMAT test score, or
  • has successfully completed a 3-year Bachelor programme in a Ducht university.

Students who do not meet one of the above conditions must satisfy at least the following: This can be shown by providing us with one of these documents:

  • TOEFL score of  >575 (paper based) or >232 (computer based) or >90 (internet based)
  • IELTS score of >6.5
  • a Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English (CAE) or Proficiency in English (CPE), with a mark of at least C.

[bw] Background in Research Methodology

All our programmes in Business Administration are based on research, because we are an academic university, involved in many international research projects. This means that the courses mainly involve different management, marketing or strategic theories, how to use them and how to compare them, but also how to test them. To make sure you have enough background to start the programme, please check the list of topics below.

The main methodological concepts used during the programme are:

  • research designs (when to use which research design)
  • constructing questionnaires
  • basic statistical concepts (one and two-tailed tests, type I and Type II errors, effect sizes, statistical power, validity, reliability)
  • descriptive statistics (means, variance, standard deviation, frequency distributions)
  • correlation analysis, analysis of variance, analysis of correspondence, factor analysis
  • (multiple) regression analysis (including models with dummies and testing fro the assumptions)
  • work with SPSS.
