The Amsterdam Business School is part of University of Amsterdam and is located in one of Europe's main financial and business centres. Our staff consist of top-level academics from more than 20 different countries.
The ABS's flagship programme is the Amsterdam MBA. The programme attracts excellent students from around the world. This key academic qualification is the best choice for managers who want to advance their careers. Our educational philosophy is characterized by small-scale interactive classes, designed to stimulate active student participation, and linking theory to practice. Courses in the Amsterdam MBA programme are demanding and comply fully with the specification of an MBA as defined by EQUIS and AMBA.
The International Study trip is an integral part of the core curriculum designed to give our students additional exposure to international business, particularly in emerging markets. The course comprises a one-week trip in which students follow lectures at a top Business School abroad and visit local companies and cultural events.
In addition to cutting-edge content, we the Amsterdam MBA has a strong focus on personal development, teamwork and leadership skills, for instance through the Amsterdam Leadership Programme®. We offer a full range of peripheral services related to job search, skills development, networking opportunities, and careers events. The program has a strong alumni engagement policy, resulting in a tightly-knit, active alumni community that adds value to the experience of our student body. Moreover, our alumni retain lifelong access to our peripheral services, which adds value to their experience in the long term and keeps them close to ABS.
The Amsterdam MBA programme is designed to incorporate three R's; rigour, relevance and reliability. With regards to rigour, we draw on a rich academic tradition of using management scholarship to address business problems. With regards to relevance, we bring the business world into the classroom and take the student out into the business world. Last, reliability is important - students need to be confident in their knowledge while at the same time understanding its limitations.
